![]() For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the authors experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own. I have also tried editing the etcsysconfignetworkroutes file and adding: 169.254.0.0 - 255.255.0.0 eth1 But the route doesnt show up when I issue the route command. The gateway is whatever addressinterface that can see the network youre trying to add. Lets say your eth1 interface can see that network, and has an address of 169.254.111.222: route add -net 169.254.0.0 gw 169.254.111.222 (I think.confirm the syntax). There is also a switch so you can specify the interface, rather than the IP address. LinuxQuestions.org is looking for people interested in writing.
